Want to maximise the juice recovery from your fruit? Here is a couple tips for getting the most juice from your fruit:
- Store produce in a cool facility. Cool apples shred to a better consistency for the press.
- Juice fruit within three days of harvest. Juicing apples within 3 days of harvest yields the maximum rate. Some orchardist have yielded up to 58, 5Ls per 800lb bin!
- As apples age recovery rates decrease. Apples that are 3 weeks to 3 months old yield approximately 52-48, 5Ls per 800lb bin.
- Our press loves fibre! When mixing apples or selecting which apple varieties to juice the easiest rule of thumb is to think: More Fibre the Better!
